Easter Monday - The Zig-Zag! Empty
PostSubject: Easter Monday - The Zig-Zag!   Easter Monday - The Zig-Zag! EmptySun Mar 24, 2013 7:12 pm

Here is the Easter Monday ride. I've plotted it in conjunction with the long range weather forecasting tool so I'm looking for 15 degrees, blue skies and lots of sun Very Happy

Ok, back to reality it's a tougher ride with a couple of good climbs including the famous Zig-Zag at Nailsworth which is a cracker of a climb. We will stop at the Lockeepers cafe in Stroud for lunch before heading south for home.

Departing Costa Coffee @ 10am meet earlier for coffee and pre ride chat

I'm pretty sure it's variously referred to as either "The Ladder" or "The W".
Zig and Zag were puppets with what looked a lot like nads hanging off their heads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIEwc5zEjQ8

This ride is timed just right as most of us will have stuffed an Easter egg or two over the weekend so this will ease the guilty feeling of over indulging Very Happy

I was chatting to Mark about this one. I think my performance peaked the first time I rode it as subsequent attempts have yielded longer times and (obviously) lower speeds. So in search of a PB I intend to shoulder the bike at the bottom and walk up..............Backwards! affraid

Our local guide (Scott) has informed me that The Lock Keepers Cafe will not be open on Easter Monday which is a shame. However, Scott has come up with some alternatives in Russell Street and High Street so we should be able to get some coffee and cake.
