| Looks good! - might cycle across as it starts quite late (10.00). Thanks for finding it! Let you know when I've booked. |

| Might have a go BUT ............... Total Climb: 1850m Thats METRES not Feet! 1850 metres = 6,069.55381 feet (6069 feet 6 41⁄64 inches) I think the 6 41/64 inches kills it for me. lol. | |

| Hi Karen This looks like a good ride. Have checked out the website and you will need to register two weeks beforehand, so best get a move on if interested. I know Steve and Dave M (went last week with us) would be up for it if they are not busy. Will let you know. Regards Gary |

| Thanks for all the replies it would be great to have an NBCC posse riding and to explore new territory. I didnt really look at the height gain just that it was fairly local and cheap to enter!! Karen |

| Entrance form submitted - I'm in for this even though I'm on the Somerzet Grand Fondle the following day - going to be a tough couple of days on the legs!
Anyone want to cycle across to the start from Costa? |

| I posted off my entry form today so it looks like we will have an NBCC posse. I'll cycle to the start from Costa with you Chris. I found this route on Ride with GPS that someone called South West Bike Builders created on 31.03.13. Don't know their connection with the hosts Royal Dean Forest CC but the route follows the one on the RDFCC's website turn by turn so I'd say it's ok to download onto your Garmin (if you've got one). http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2292968 |

OMG just taken another look at this and the Exmoor Beauty was 60 miles of Total Height Gain 5,782 ft and i couldnt walk very well afterwards. More training is needed for this bad boy! or... i need a new body Shall we make a plan to meet at the start at about 9.30 am on Saturday 4 May. Shauna and I will be driving over so we will look out for the NBCC shirts. Karen |

| I think we (Chris and I) will try to get to the start a bit earlier than 9.30 am to try and beat the signing-on mayhem. If we exchange mobile numbers we'll be able to contact each other if there's any change of plan or emergency. I'll pm you mine. |

| I am in the process of plotting the route onto OS maps thence onto RWGPS so bear with me I will post it in a bit. | |

| Done it ! http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2423566I think it's right if not it is very very close there are a few roads in the Forest which are difficult to pick up on the OS map and just show as roads and tracks on RWGPS but it all seems to look ok. As Nick said today about the route to the lakes "when you look at the elevation it looks like a row of sharks teeth." I think this ride will bite you. | |

| Someone (called South West Bike Builders) already drew the route on rwgps, http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2292968. I've compared this route with yours and they look identical. Scott, presumably you've got hold of a copy of the Audax route directions? I tried to follow the rwgps route with the Audax route directions but there were sections where I couldnt match the two (particularly at the 39km point "L@T go past TV mast to Info Control @ Marcle Ridge picnic place". I googled Marcle Ridge picnic place and apparently its close to Much Marcle just off the A449 which is nowhere near the rwgps route! How did you plot the route at this point ? |

| On the link to the audax there is a map which I copied onto an os map then from there onto rwgps. I will have a look i didnt follow the turn instructions just the map they put up. | |

| If you look between 36 and 37 k then go to the little man on the map there is a staggered cross roads if you go left right ie straight over then the mast is on your left just up the road there is a sign that says picnic area but I cant see the picnic area there is actually no left turns as such on that road from 35k to about 45 k if you follow their map ! | |

| http://news.herefordshire.gov.uk/leisure/parks_recreation/2579.aspOn this site they give a map ref which if you plot on a OS map puts it between 38 and 39 k junction of Glowsen wood road. I reckon that when you get to that junction you will have to turn left into the control then back out onto the route . The mast is at 37k marker if you google earth it you can see the mast shadow. | |

| That sounds early - I can't see it taking long to sign onto what looks like a relatively small audax. I'm planning to get there for 9:30am myself, I would have thought getting there at 9:15am would be fine if you wanted to be extra sureof having enough time | |

There are a couple of changes to what we thought was going to be the route, at the 44 and 52.5 mile points. Gary is that the official route? As when I click it comes up with a route by you? | |

Yeah, it is the official route. The Audax guy emailed me the route's gpx file which I then uploaded and added to my RWGPS collection of routes which I suppose is why it says it was done by me. |
