| Some (who shall remain nameless ie Louisa) have asked if they can go up and down and up again. I could include most of the way up Horton hill? | |

| I can always divert(improve) by going up Horton at mile 14 up the hill round the hairpin along to Hawksbury down the hill and fork left and rejoin at 16.5 mile . PS arent you already banned.? | |

| Well I finally got back on the bike the other day any managed to complete 25 miles, down side is knees are giving my issues so booking a bike fit for next week to sort it out once and for all.
Incidentally if anyone has a 105 groupset going cheap or know where I can get one that would be really helpful, think it's about time I upgrade from the original tiagra on the bike.
Once the fit is done I will aim to come on the next cake ride and see how I get on. deffo missing the riding.
Cheers Matt |

| Hi there.
For a long while - my left knee had been giving me grief, to a point where it was a distraction from enjoying the ride and cold beers afterwards. I'd had several "fits" done over home plus a number of exercises from the physio which all helped in one way or another but the issue had never been fully resolved.
Anyways, Scott put me onto the lads in town at BW Cycling and I went in and had a session with them. They listened to my story and understood what I wanted to achieve with the knee and my riding goals (nothing stella - just wanting to enjoy etc). They weren't so interested in the all the previous changes as they wanted to look at things with a fresh and open mind - all good stuff.
So, a mix of shims under the cleats and re-positioning the cleats, spacers on the pedal axles and a wee tweak to the saddle height (plus moving forward a tad) saw a significant improvement in the knee issue. I won't go so far as to say that its fixed as I think there may be a deeper issue (maybe) but for the most part the gains were absolutely worth the lazy 125pounds they charge for the 1 1/2hr consult.
Olly was a good lad, looked at me riding on the trainer with my bike, took the video from different directions and looked at my flexibility on the physio bed. He's also provided me with a number of additional stretching exercises that will all help strengthen the gluts to then get them "firing" so that will help take to load off the knee.
Give them a call and have a chat.
Cheers Kiwi Dave | |
