Friday.. Tintern!
! Oh yes up those hills, but Tintern for tea and cake.

What time and where is the start point?

Hopefully be there for this one. Not yet done the Tintern run. With a following wind (no problem there then) and God willing I can dispense with the Penicillin and join the other old gits for a ride thats fun but not too thrilling

Hi Scott

Looks like I may have to give this a miss. Which is a shame because I was really looking forward to it.

It is 'er indoors' birthday on Friday and she has decided she wants to do lunch instead of evening meal.

Can I suggest Bradford on Avon for next week? I'm happy to lead.

Pity you cant make Friday Nick but summers coming and we can and will do again.
We were tentatively looking at gong Westish next week starting from Martins garden shed @ Lulsgate it will mean driving to the start but it would make a nice change to do Mendips etc.

I have Friday off so will jump on this one, plus as i live in Pilning New Passage is on my doorstep,what time are you blasting/bumbling off.

Sorry guys, I'm going to give this one a miss. I love the ride to Tintern, and perhaps we can do it another day, but it's the risk of ice I'm worried about.

Let's hope Sunday works out better. The latest forecast I have shows it a bit above freezing from midday Saturday. Fingers crossed eh?

My thoughts re weather as well.
How about we make a later start to see if the sun has done it's job?

FWIW .... met office 8-9-10 am slot shows -3 so unless you're
looking at a midday start ..... !

Right the jungle drums have been talking and due to the current cold snap.The more delicate amongst us have thought that it might be wise to delay the start tomorrow till NOON.
Also not to attempt the same distance/area.
So meet at noon at COSTA at Bradley Stoke and we will take it from there.
I think most of you have my mobile number so if you want to give me a ring tomorrow or post if attending that would be great.

Sadly will not be able to make it tomorrow. Weather and house reassembly. Sunday is looking doubtful, according to the unreliable forecast. Hope you all have a good and safe ride tomorrow.

Watch yourselves chaps .... the 40 mile drive into work this morning
saw -5 to -8.5 along the M4 corridor. No ice or frost visible, but shaded
and quiet country lanes will be a different matter ....

Looks like today is off.Sorry about that.I hate calling of rides but sometimes safety is paramount.
Just means that you will have more energy for sunday ride.

I'll ride in most rubbish, but not ice. I've never tried riding a road bike with crutches, although I used to have a neighbour who rode a sit-up-and-beg iron grid and he only had one leg. He wasn't much good at honking up hills though

saw a documentary about a multi-day sportive in France where they
rode up some of the "classic" big climbs and there was one chap
that only had a right arm and leg - he made it up Galibier, Tourmalet,
Ventoux .... mightily impressed :-)

Good call Scott as my van has only just de-iced and i was pretending to be tough.
