PostSubject: Sunday 25th March    Sunday 25th March EmptySat Mar 17, 2012 5:33 pm

Trial Cake run!
as some of you know the very nice ladies at Hill and Rockhampton 'do' cream teas on certain Sundays through the summer. They kick of with the LVIS audax next Sunday.
A few of our happy band are partaking in the LVIS so what I thought is that I would put on a ride for the others not entering the LVIS but we would go via the cake stop.I am sure that they won't mind as all raised funds go to charity so the more the merrier.
We will have normal 10.00 am start and route will be sorted out later tonight and will post later.

Not doing the LVIS but I am looking forward to this splendid route, even if it does include Mumbleys Hill. Now, coffee and walnut cake or raspberry pavlova, which is better for climbing hills ?

Hey, don't forget the clocks go FORWARD an hour on Sunday 25th March at 1am.

If you think I am going to get up at 01.00 just to adjust my clock you can think again.
Spring forward
Fall back

M,
Tesco directions,
If you come off the m5 at Almondsbury.then head down A38 towards Bristol 200 yds big roundabout turn left and stay in right lane to lights, through lights, 200 yds roundabout third exit (more or less straight over) half a mile you will see BIG Tesco on Right and the Giant bike store. At the roundabout turn right, to next roundabout turn right again over speed humps into car park.We meet by Subway/Costa/Gregg's Normally I try to get there at 09.30 ish for a caffine fix prior to the off.

M - The Almondsbury junction is number 16.

Scott - Your directions are excellent, I just thought that mentioning the junction number would be extra useful in case M wasn't familiar with the junctions around Almondsbury.
I took advantage of the good weather this afternoon and went out for a short blast - Bradley Stoke/Tytherington/Thornbury/Rockhampton/Hill/Oldbury/Mumbleys Lane/Tockington/Almondsbury/Bradley Stoke. 22.7 miles, 1hr 22mins, avg speed 16.8 mph ! I'm pretty chuffed with that. Very Happy No drink bottle, no flapjack and no winter leggings weighing me down (I had my shorts on of course).
See ya Sunday

This is what Scott crammed into his rucksack the last time. Rumour has it Scott was seen surreptitiously talking to some bearded CTC guys last Saturday and that BS1 will be wearing front and rear panniers on Sunday for extra cake carrying capacity.
