What, apart from sitting by the newly restored canal lock and eating cake.
Actually watch this space. The main route has a few long hills! but!Plans are afoot.
More later.
This was last time we did it route
But as I said watch this space. Very Happy

Shortist route to the cafe sounds good. Team boardman need to ensure we are there first as the cakes at this cafe are amazing!

Three days? You must be looking for some long overnight stops. lol!
If you don't intend riding any more next week I think you will be fine.

You might even get a certificate !You'll be fine just don't rush it and sit in the middle of the pack .Let the others act as a wind break.Makes a hell of a difference.

OK then some of us have been having a think ,Yea I know, and we are going to try a new idea on Sunday if the riders that are out are up for it.
To give the 'young fit fast climbers amongst you a chance to have a go without being held up by some old farts (you know who I, sorry, you are)we are going to try something out.
Basic plan is that we ride as a bunch to a point on the route which in this case is just outside Wotton by the Vets then the fast climbers go on on their own as a bunch up the hills and over the top and on to the coffee stop at Stroud. We follow but at 'our pace' this means that those that want can climb and 'put the pedal to the metal'for a few miles without having to wait for us and stand around getting cold.We meet up at the cafe then leave there together then when we get to Frocester hill I will take some around the bottom to Cam whilst the others go up the hill and if we want we can re group at Cam.
This an experiment and mainly relys on someone with a gps or knowledge to lead the climbers I know of two who could fall into this category but lets wait and see what we all think when we gather for coffee before the off.
We are open to thoughts on this either via pm or post but if you post try not to be contentious.

I guess if there's enough people that do want to push on then splitting at Wotton is worth trying. Personally though I'm more than happy to wait at the top of the climbs (I rarely have to wait long anyhow and usually others are waiting for me to) and I remember last time we did this route I found it pretty tough going so I for one won't be chomping at the bit to start through-and-off chaingang stuff, at least not before about 5 miles until the end, assuming I have any legs left.
