Saturday 27th July - 100 miler

In preparation for my Welsh epic ride (I don't like to talk about it) I have plotted a 100 mile route taking in Burrington Coombe, Cheddar Gorge, Yatton and then heading back up towards Bristol. I have designed the route such that anyone wanting to try their first century ride can have a go and if you want to bail before the end you shouldn't be that far from home!

Leaving the start point just behind the UWE @ 8.00am
Leaving the Willy Wicket @ 8.20am
Leaving Warmley Station @ 8.40am

Planned cafe stops are at Cheddar (39 miles) and The Fox at Easter Compton (73 miles)

Along the route we do pass Chew Magna lake visitor centre (20 miles) and The Strawberry Line Cafe at Yatton (52 miles) just in case we need to take in some extra fluids or indeed remove some!

There is a pub called the Crown just after the 100 mile marker so if anyone wants to celebrate with a pint then the option is there.

Gutted I would love to give this a try but I have to go to the outlaws that weekend.

 Mark's quite excited about the idea of taking as many people as possible up both tunnels on the 20th............

I'd like to join you for the south part of the ride - give my new jersey an airing! What time do you reckon you'll be at chew magna? Are you stopping at the tea room by the lake?

50/50 for this at the moment with work, if I can come I will join you up until congresbury then head up the A370 back to Bristol. See you at warmly station.

I estimate we will get to Chew Magna between 9.30am and 10.00am. It is not a planned stop but it is en route so we can pick you up there. If you pm me your mobile number I can contact you on the day.

What is happening the week after Mark?

Should make this one to, assuming there's no thunderstorms forecast :p I'll be heading to the UWE start from Bradley Stoke around 7:30am (groan) if anyone wants to tag along and doesn't know the way.

+1 for this : I've only done one century so far.

Unable to make this as working the weekend but will give the route a go on friday instead.

I won't be able to come along for this I will be doing my first 100 miler this year though.

Won't be able to make this now as I have a pressing engagement with multiple pints of The Amber Nectar @ the harbour festival.............

@ Scott - I think there is a short segment but I've no interest in them or Strava and so closed my Strava account a few weeks back.
